What this notice covers
This notice covers the MnemoNexus website, website accounts and messages you send to us. The publisher named below is responsible for this information. It also explains the boundary between the website and your local desktop library.
Managed hosting, multi-device sync, mobile access and hosted AI are coming soon. This notice does not authorise us to upload your local library or activate those services. We will explain their additional data handling before making them available.
Your local library
The local desktop workflow stores study material and learning records on your computer. Creating a website account does not by itself upload that library to MnemoNexus.
If you choose an external AI provider or another online integration in the app, the material needed for that action may be sent to that provider. Review the relevant settings and provider information before using it. Material you send directly to support is also separate from local storage.
Information we use
When you create or use an account, we process your email address, authentication information, account identifier and profile information you provide. Supabase handles authentication, including password verification and recovery. Do not send us your password.
When you contact us, we process your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Please avoid including unrelated personal information or private lecture material.
Our website and authentication providers process technical information such as IP addresses, request times, browser information and security events to deliver the website and protect accounts. This website is hosted by Vercel; account authentication and account records use Supabase; support email uses Zoho Mail.
Why we use it
We use account information to create your account, sign you in, recover access and provide the account functions you request. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request and performing our agreement with you.
We use support correspondence to answer you and resolve problems. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to requests and maintaining the service; where a request concerns our agreement with you, we also use the contractual basis.
We use technical and security information in our legitimate interests in operating a reliable website, preventing abuse and protecting users. We may retain or disclose information where necessary to comply with a legal obligation. We do not sell your personal information or use these account details for advertising.
Browser storage
The website stores your chosen light or dark theme in this browser. When you sign in, authentication session information is stored locally so your session can continue and be refreshed. Signing out clears the website session; clearing browser storage also removes your saved theme and local sign-in information.
The website does not use advertising cookies. Authentication requests and account pages still communicate with our service providers when you use them.
Providers and transfers
Vercel, Supabase and Zoho process information needed for hosting, authentication, account storage and email. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect accounts and investigate abuse. We do not send your local library to these providers merely because you visit the website.
Service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where a transfer requires protection under UK data protection law, the applicable safeguards must be in place, such as adequacy arrangements or approved contractual safeguards. You can contact us for information about the arrangements that apply to your data.
How long we keep it
We retain account records while you maintain an account. You can request account deletion using the privacy contact below. We remove information that is no longer needed, subject to records needed to comply with law, resolve an outstanding dispute or protect against abuse.
We keep correspondence for as long as needed to answer your request and deal with related follow-up. Technical records and provider backups follow the retention settings of the relevant service. Those settings, the purpose of the record and any legal obligation determine how long it remains; deletion from backups may follow the provider’s backup cycle.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. If we use consent for a future optional activity, you can withdraw it without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Contact us using the privacy address below. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account before disclosing or changing information. We normally respond within one month; we will explain if a lawful extension or exception applies.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You do not have to contact us first, although we welcome the opportunity to resolve a concern.
Payments and future changes
Paid hosting and hosted AI are not currently offered publicly. If they become available, their checkout and billing information will explain the price, included allowance, payment provider and additional privacy terms before purchase. A website account does not start a subscription.
We will update this notice when the services or data practices change. The version date below identifies the current text. Changes that require your choice or consent will be presented when the relevant service becomes available.
