Building a research software project in public

A short framing piece on using the public site as an archive of design decisions, experiments, and constraints instead of only a launch page.

Archive value

Articles and research notes give the project a memory outside the codebase. They make decisions legible to future users, collaborators, and even to the builder six months later.

That is especially useful when the project blends product design, pipeline design, and a personal research agenda.

Practical next step

The first version does not need a heavy CMS. A small set of structured content files is enough to publish serious material quickly and iterate on voice later.
